Establishing a housing and climate advocacy Network for the future of Davis

The shortfall in available housing and the climate crisis are the two most pressing emergencies shaping the future. The City of Davis counts some of the world’s top experts in climate, housing, and policy among its residents due to our world class university and our status as a commuter hub to Sacramento. City surveys consistently cite affordable housing as the top concern of the community, indicating a shared value for addressing this issue head on. Yet, there is no single advocacy organization in place to give voice to community members invested in developing new solutions and supporting their elected officials to take bold action. The Davis City Action Network or Davis CAN will bring together the experts and community members to develop and support climate- based affordable housing solutions. Davis CAN will be the community hub to channel the energy of this growing movement of people.
