We have started this group for parents within Davis to connect with each other, get resources, and learn about opportunities for action related to housing issues.
🏠 Why Housing Matters for Our Schools
Where families live directly affects school enrollment and school enrollment is directly related to funding. If enrollment goes down, schools have fewer resources and have to make hard choices. DJUSD, like many other districts in the state, is currently impacted by declining enrollment. The districts that aren’t struggling with this have one thing in common- access to affordable housing for families.
School communities are the heart of vibrant neighborhoods. Ensuring Davis stays family-friendly means planning now for family-friendly, affordable housing. When we plan the future of our city, we are planning for the future of our kids.
